Mehndi MadnessTM Blog

Cosmetics and Henna
By: Krysteen Lomonaco ~ 10/29/2014

As you may have learned from reading our Mehndi Madness Blog, henna has many capabilities other than creating beautiful henna tattoos on the skin!  It is used as hair dye, sun block and can be used as natural makeup! In the early days of artificial tanning, henna would be a common ingredient in sunless tanners. Henna can be used in homemade tanners (just ask pinterest) but beware, too much henna can turn you into an oompa loompa! Follow the recipe you are using and remember that it is better to look just a little bit darker rather than orange.

Cosmetic lines like Henna Penna, Henna Eyes, Henna Maiden, and Mehru boast 100% natural cosmetics. These products include lip and cheek stain, lipstick and liner, lip gloss, eyeliner and brow liner, and nail stain. The benefits are all day wear, and for sensitive skin, limited ingredients.

If you are allergic to anything make sure to read the ingredients before you buy or try!  Henna used as hair dye has been practiced for ages. Today you can find a range of colors from red to brown. The resulting color of your hair depends on your natural color and chemistry. Again, make sure to read the ingredients, as some henna dyes can include dangerous chemicals such as PPD.  Only use 100% natural ingredients.

Mehndi Madness sells a 100% natural hair dye kit that is used by our very own artists! For any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
