Can I grow my own Henna Plant?
By: Krysteen Lomonaco ~ 5/18/2017

HennaPlant.jpgHenna is a perennial tree that grows between 6 – 25 ft. Since it’s native to desert countries such as India, it’s thrives in full sun and high temperatures.  It has no problem surviving drought but needs to be indoors during winter as it can’t survive below 40 degrees.  It seems to do well as an indoor potted plant if placed in direct sunlight but is generally planted outdoors.

It produces a cluster of flowers that have been used as perfume.  It’s mostly used as a dye for hair, skin, nails, wool, leather, and just about any natural fiber.  Henna repels some insects and mildew.  It has been used as a lice treatment as well.
