Mehndi MadnessTM Blog
The Issaquah library with KCLS hosted a free Hands On Henna event for teens in March 2010. We had a full turn out, about 30 people. The staff went all out with decorated tables and books on henna, Indian culture and foods. They even provided some fun middle eastern snacks.
I gave a short lecture on henna, what it is, where it comes from, how people use it traditionally and then do sample tattoos on everyone. Here's a great video the library made. (video link)
We offer a reduced rate for libraries and park and recreation. There are two events to choose from. The Friends of the Library group have been wonderful in sponsoring henna events with Mehndi Madness in 4 library systems around the Puget Sound. Read more about them here.
