KrysteenIn the past I would have said, "Your stuck with it until the skin is ready to exfoliate off." And in general that is the case. However, there are some special occasions one might want their henna to be as pristine as possible or those fussy budgets who just will not acquiesce to the perception that with henna, you get what you get. Sometimes it gets smudged and you have to live with it!
Ayda, one of our henna artists for the past several years, discovered that simple hair bleaching creams from the drug store take it off very effectively. She used a cream by Jolin but in her research found they all use the same method. It's a combination of hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric acid and ammonium bicarbonate. Just follow the direction on the package.
Here is an example of how quickly the Jagua can stain even after it's been wiped off and fixed. This design is not done by us but was a client who had come by the booth to ask how it might be fixed because the smear had shown up even after she went back to have it repaired.
At the time I didn't know about the bleaching cream so I couldn't tell her. If any of you know of other methods of removing smears, please let us know.
