The Omak campus had Mehndi Madness out for Earth Day. Since henna is natural and produces no waste, it seemed like a perfect fit. They had information on recycling, gardening, rain water uses and a lecture on henna tattoos, of course. We talked about the henna plant, where it comes from and other uses for it as well as some traditional henna ceremonies. That evening, in the adjacent park, I did henna tattoo samples. There was a band, face painting and people made instruments out of recycled items.
