Glass Henna Painting
By: Krysteen Lomonaco ~ 3/16/2014

The new henna artists and I did a great glass project we'd like to share with you.  It's so simple to do.  We got different small glass pieces from the dollar store.  They had a variety of stemless wine glasses, small vases and various other useful glass items.

Here's what you need:
Wine glass or other glass item.
Glass paint pens (found at Michael's, 3.99 ea.)
Glass cleaner & paper towels.
Oven

After you've cleaned your glass with glass cleaner, dry it well.  Pick 1 or 2 colors of paint pens that go well together.  Blue and Sliver, Red and Gold, Purple and White...  Draw henna inspired designs but leave the drinking edge free of paint for 3/4 of an inch.

We picked our pieces with henna style drawing in mind.  Other great pieces to do this project on are glass coasters, picture frames and mirrors.

Once finished, let dry for 8 hours.  Put glasses in cold oven and heat to 350 degrees for 30 min.  This will set the paint.  Use as you wish but hand wash to keep harsh dishwasher detergent from harming the design.  Be sure to send us pictures for your treasures.  We'd love to see them.
