Mehndi MadnessTM Blog
If you're interested in purchasing henna for your personal use, you're officially mad for mehndi! Mehndi Madness offer various kits and supplies on our products page, choosing which kit best fits your needs can be a little daunting, we're here to help! We will be breaking each kit down so you can make a more informed decision. These kits are hand packed and designed for henna artists of all skill levels.
Small Henna Kit: This kit is considered a starter kit. It includes enough henna to do 15 - 20 designs on you, your friends, canvas, clothing etc. If you aren't all that artsy, don't fret! There are a few design transfers included as well as a heat sealed cone applicator, Eucalyptus oil, a henna application and easy to understand instructions. We recommend mixing your henna with lemon/lime juice for best results. Don't forget to check out our video on How To Fill A Cone.
Large Henna Kit: This kit is similar to the small henna kit, however, includes enough henna to do 30-40 designs. Remember that henna loses its staining power gradually, so if you plan on doing lots of henna, this is the kit for you! It has 2 henna applications as well as 2 cone applicators. Why 2 applications? Use one for practice and the other for tattoos or one for you and one for a friend. This is a great time to see firsthand henna tattoos being done with the Mehndi Madness Henna I video.
Bulk Kit: This is the largest home kit that we offer. This kit is for those who are more advanced and would like to brew your own traditional mixture. The kit includes instructions on brewing a traditional tea mixture that has various spices and additives to make your henna stain darker and last longer. This kit includes 100 grams of current-crop henna, a large bottle of eucalyptus oil, 1 brew pack, 2 heat sealed cone applicators, a design book and a stencil pack. We recommend using lemon/lime juice to mix your henna for best results.
Professional Henna Kit: This kit can be purchased as a stand alone item, with a pro-class video VHS or digital download, and is included if you choose to sign up for the Professional Artist Class. This kit includes 200 grams of current-crop henna, a large bottle of eucalyptus oil, 4 heat sealed cone applicators, a spray bottle, oil application brush, transfer pencil, traditional design book, brew ingredients, a handmade carrying pouch and a how-to manuscript of the professional artist class. We have lots of tools to help you on your way to becoming a professional henna artist. Feel free to take advantage of the Mehndi Madness, How To Mix Henna video.
Henna Hair Dye Kit: This is a kit designed for those who would like to dye their hair using henna. it includes 100 grams of henna for hair, gloves, instructions and an application brush. 100 grams of henna might enough for 2 applications of shorter hair or 1 if longer hair. If you've never dyed your hair with henna before, watch the video first. You might need a friend to help you.
It is important to buy your henna from a henna artist rather than anywhere else online because chances are the henna you are buying from the artist is the same henna that the artist uses every day. Buying current crop henna is important and will be the freshest. This is how you know it will work for you. There's also a chance that henna you buy elsewhere is not sifted as well and can clump and clog your applicator. It's not very cute, as you can imagine, having a giant blob of clumpy henna interrupt your design.
