Cancer is a horrible reality that we must face as a family, friend or personally. Bonding through something symbolically can boost hope and confidence within that group. Groups like Henna Heals in Canada help contribute to the relief of cancer stricken women and have been growing in recognition. It might seem like such a small thing, get a henna or jagua tattoo on bald women that have been or are currently going through chemo therapy. Women who suffer from breast cancer often get mastectomies in order to remove risk of cancerous cells returning or multiplying. A friend of Mehndi Madness, Tina Bafaro, was applauded for her work on a woman who received a double mastectomy. This tattoo across the woman's breast plate brought back a sense of femininity to the woman and something that could have been negative into a positive situation. Similarly, Henna artist Neha Assar, based in Beverly Hills has shown similar pieces with henna. She uses the female body to showcase her designs in a way that is not common. Pregnancy and birth are one of the human race's most magical experiences. Celebrate this time with some pregnancy mehndi. The ritual of applying mehndi in the 7th month of pregnancy is an age old tradition and is said to bring good luck to the mother and child during birth. Rituals also include blessing the child in life, 
bringing the mother and child beauty and protection from evil.
